Announcing planned release of [Bib]le v1.1 for Mac OS/X and Debian Linux

Post by pagetelegram »

This program is currently supported on x86_64 Debian distros such as Ubuntu AND OS/X Intel/M1/2.

Bib is a bible study app for console only and uses keyboard input to get to the verse you want with context setting of verses before and after.

Introduced feature: You do not have to specify the full name of the book. And the book name query will no longer be case sensitive.

Linux:
You may use 'sudo dpkg -i bib.deb' or your gui package manager to install on your system. The program does require an indexed text file containing the Bible translation of your choice . So far I have only found the Young's translation that works with complete compatibility with Bib.

To install on your Debian based Linux distro:

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg -i bib11.deb
Mac OS/X:
You may double click on the DMG folder and drag and drop into your Applications folder. The binary program will launch in Terminal/Console.

The binary for Bib1.1 will be released in this thread after some debugging.

Here is the Debian installer of Bib version 1.1, attached.

I will attempt to package an installer for OS/X next.

This version still uses the YLT Book.

Version 1.2 will contain also the KJV and ASV.
